BIG DAY FOR ACADEMY

16:00 - 18 June 2005

The achievements of pupils at an Aberdeen school will be marked next week.

Children from Kincorth Academy are holding their annual prizegiving ceremony on Monday.

Around 200 pupils and their families will join staff at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre to receive prizes.

The awards will mark success in a range of fields, such as academic work, sport and drama.

The keynote speaker will be Bill Duncan of Fifth Dimension, an innovative magic and corporate communication company which also runs creative learning programmes to motivate pupils.

Guests will be entertained by members of Katapult Junior Youth Theatre, who will perform a preview of the show they plan to take to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Aberdeen Arts Centre later this year.

Head Hugh Bryce said it would be a key event.
