Milnes High School (Fochabers) 3 v
4 Kincorth The boys were trailing
3 - 2 at halftime but after a magnificant
fightback won through to the 3rd round of
the Scottish Cup. The boys behaviour from
start to finish, on the pitch and off was
tremendous. Two goals from Craig Johnston,
and one each from Johnny McVey and Scott Cowper
was enough to see off a very good Milnes High
School team. The boys were congratulated by
all involved with Milnes HS regarding their
spirit and endeavour.

Kincorth Academy Scoops Top Award
Kincorth Academy has lifted the John Stodter
trophy for the second time. Last night head
teacher Hugh Bryce received the award for
the outstanding partnership formed between
the school and its industry partner, Petrofac
Facilities Management. The award judges recognized
the partnership's achievements of the past
10 years.
When he left the City Council, Mr Stodter
asked for donations which could be used to
purchase a trophy for the ACE Awards, instead
of a gift for himself. Scottish artist Mike
Cairncross created a Portsoy marble sculpture
that will be held by Kincorth Academy for
a year. |

KATAPULT
Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008 “An
Escape that Tangles” by Adam Coutts
Publicity material and details for purchasing
tickets for the above show in Edinburgh can
now be found on the Acoustic Music Centre
Website – www.acousticmusiccentre.co.uk
Simply click on list of shows / week three
(18th – 24th August) / “An Escape
that Tangles”. If buyers would purchase
tickets through the box office at AMC (0131
– 346 – 1405) that would be preferable
to online purchases, as the Fringe office
takes a commission on all sales – whereas
AMC do not. Prices - £8 and £5
concession.
The performance venue is the same as the
last time KATAPULT visited the Fringe –
this being due to the fact that the operators’
were impressed with our company. However,
this is a big (ish) venue of 350 seats, if
these are empty! Please pass on the word.
If you can be there at some point it would
be hugely appreciated.

Kincorth
pupils meet First Minister
Scotland's first minister was put on the
spot by Aberdeen youngsters, including representatives
from Kincorth Academy.
Around 200 youngsters quizzed Jack McConnell
on a wide range of issues - from his views
on the Iraq war to which celebrities he would
take to a desert island. Discipline in schools
was a hot topic for senior secondary pupils
at the event.
Kincorth Academy's Kimberley Robb asked if
he supported the prime minister's decision
to go to war in Iraq, he said he was "broadly
sympathetic" towards the main objective.
"I had always been an absolute opponent
of Saddam Hussein," he said. "One
of the world's most evil men had to go." |
